Have a heart

They place themselves in harm’s way to save others.
But long after the flames have been put out, some firefighters are left to fend for themselves when they need help.
Statement from Victorian Emergency Services Minister James Merlino
Unlike the Liberal Party who ignored the dangers of Fiskville, our focus has always been with those affected by their cancer as a result of their job.
If the Liberals had not disgraced themselves by lying about religion to vote down changes that would make Victorians safer, our firefighters would have the overdue cancer rights they deserve in place right now. Quite frankly they should be ashamed of themselves for refusing to give firefighters these rights.
Our view has not changed that these reforms are important and should be put in place.
Statement from NSW Finance, Services and Property Minister Victor Dominello
We have enormous respect for our firefighters and are sympathetic to these issues raised. The Government is seriously considering this matter and is currently working through the details.
We’d love to hear from you
