A finance and property advisor has backflipped before court and admitted to stealing $126,000 of his clients' money.

When A Current Affair approached Abdullah Popal in February last year with questions about a missing $65,000 from one of his clients' self-managed superannuation fund, he also claimed he was a victim and the money was taken by a hacker.

Three months later, police swooped on Popal, charging him with five counts of dishonestly obtaining financial advantage by deception.
