Single dad left waiting six years for public housing

Doug Bowen found a place to call home thanks to the generosity of an ACA viewer but is facing an uncertain future yet again.

A Department of Families Fairness and Housing spokesperson said:

"We are working with the family to find a property that meets their needs following several offers which have been declined.

This includes scoping new builds that include all appropriate modifications.

In Warrnambool, more than $75 million has been invested through social housing programs to build 151 new social and affordable homes, with 76 of these already completed."
