The proud owners of a sailing boat have been left devastated after a group of hooligans on tinnies and jet-skis sunk it.

Daniel Cooke and Noe Chambon bought their 35-foot vessel five months ago.

The boat sat on the Coomera River, a popular waterway on Queensland's Gold Coast, where teenagers and young adults have performed dangerous stunts in recent months.

"I'm sure it's only a matter of time until they have a good crash and someone does hurt themselves," Cooke said.
