An expert believes Donald Trumps COVID-19 results could be worse than his team are letting on, as foreign enemies will be watching developments closely.

US Political expert and Professor Joseph Siracusa from RMIT said the president's health is at considerable risk.

"You really reap what you sow in this world, I mean he's been poking fun at COVID-19 all these months as though it doesn't affect people and here it is on his own doorstep."

The professor said the twist in the campaign came out of nowhere.

"This is real Hollywood Production; you couldn't invent this."

Professor Siracusa said this news will affect the way the world now sees Trump.

He also believes it is likely Trump has now infected others.

"He would have infected the entire national security infrastructure; he meets with all those people all the time."

"Potential enemies take advantage of it. So, the Iranians will be watching this closely, the North Koreans, the Chinese and the Russians and they're all going to be wondering what they're going to do next."
