Behaviour at Bondi Beach proves we're not getting our response to coronavirus right

Now we really are all in this together...

All of us could get this virus. And we all know someone who probably wouldn't survive it.

There's a dilemma journalists face daily in bringing you enough information to prepare you for what's to come, but constantly checking ourselves so we don't cause panic.

It can be a fine line.

Yesterday's behaviour at Bondi Beach taught us that we're not getting it right.

There's some confusion, sure.

But too many people still think this virus isn't their problem.

We're a few weeks behind most of the world's infection rates, and Italy's is catastrophic.

So we're about to show you a Sky News report from an Italian hospital.

It's incredibly confronting and we hope this won't be our hospitals in a few weeks...

We all need to start acting - together- to prevent that, so we think you need to see this.

No one knows how bad it will get for us here, but we all have a responsibility to protect each other.

So please learn the rules and follow them. Stay 1.5 metres away from others, and if you've just arrived here from overseas, stay at home for two weeks.

Don't go out.

It won't kill you to do that, but at least you won't kill someone else.
