Why compensation victims are losing despite class action wins

When we think of class action wins, we think of big pay days for victims.
But despite an explosion in class action litigation here, compensation for victims remains disappointingly low.
Paltry pay outs are set to dwindle even further with a rise in international third party litigation funders using their financial muscle to back Aussie law firms for a slice of the class action pie pay out.

Mum of two Jess is part of a class action lawsuit of 1033 women who allegedly suffered complications from a so-called one-size-fits-all breast augmentation surgery through Dr Eddy Dona.
In April this year the case was settled before trial for $25m, Jess doesn't believe she'll see a cent.
