Second season of remarkable series follows miracle IVF journey of Aussie couples and singles
When deciding to start a family, you hope the path is straightforward.
But, unfortunately, for many that's not the case.
The second season of Channel 9 show Big Miracles follows couples and singles as they navigate the parenthood journey, with new technology helping along the way.

For couple Rachel and Heather, it was not easy to make the daunting decision to try again.
"We fell pregnant on our first transfer with our daughter Eden, and the pregnancy was going really well up until about 28 weeks where I woke up one morning and I couldn't feel any movement," Rachel said.
Suffering from severe preeclampsia, Rachel's only option was to deliver baby Eden early.

But Eden had a catastrophic brain bleed.
"We held her until she passed away," Rachel said.

With the expertise of Professor Gavin Sacks from IVF Australia, new artificial intelligence helps pick the best embryo for implanting.
"IVF is a fascinating job to do because every week there are advances," Sacks said.
But with IVF there's always a risk, with only one in three attempts successful.

"I carry that risk, I have to weigh it all up and give her the confidence it'll be ok," Sacks said.
For Rachel and Heather, the benefits outweigh the risks.
"We reminded each other that it's a way to honour Eden, you know, we want to keep talking about her and I think sharing stories is important," Heather said.
Big Miracles starts on Monday, February 5, after Married at First Sight.
