Aussie pets set to be spoiled for Christmas as owners spend staggering amount

Australian pet owners are set to spend a staggering amount on their beloved animals this Christmas.

One-in-three owners will buy their pets a Christmas gift and they'll spend $360 million, which is an average of $60 per pet. It's a lot of money.

The most eager to please pet owners will be thrilled with what's rolling out for Christmas - from Uber Eats deliveries to massages there's a plethora of gifts for fur babies.

"Were very busy and it's our favourite time - it's just exciting and busy," Mon from Dogue tell A Current Affair.

But before you pull out the wallet to impress your pet, remember there is a very high benchmark.

"We want to get them a nice bed that is fit for a princess, a human princess," Hannah, owner of two hairless pooches, tells A Current Affair.

And that bed costs around $599. But, at least you're guaranteed one thing, they will pay you back with love.
