Courageous Aussies leave lives behind to help earthquake victims

Peta Barnes, Josh Tunley and Jessica Hickingbotham are three everyday Australians carrying out one extraordinary mission to help the people of Syria and Turkey.

They've filmed video diaries to document the devastation from the earthquakes and to capture some miracle rescues to give Australians some idea of what's been described as "'the worst natural disaster in the region for a century".

Barnes, who is from Melbourne, now finds herself in north-west Syria working for aid agency Unicef.

While Tunley and Hickingbotham are in Turkey, sent there by Samaritans Purse within 24 hours of the first massive earthquake.

With 47,000 people dead and millions homeless, there are so many people that need help.
