71-year-old man charged after woman found dead inside Melbourne home

An elderly man has been charged with murder after a 65-year-old woman was found dead inside a home in Melbourne's southeast.

Police say the dead woman was known to the murder suspect.

Emergency services were called to Dunblane Road in Noble Park at about 10:50am, where they found the woman's body.

A 71-year-old Noble Park man was arrested a short time later and has now been charged with one count of murder.

He will appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court later this evening.

The home has belonged to Radmilla, 65, and Dragan Stevanovic, 71, for the past 16 years, according to the Herald Sun.

One neighbour described Mr Stevanovic as "a very lovely man, quiet, old".
