A total of 600 asylum seekers have so far joined a Papua New Guinean constitutional challenge to the Manus Island detention centre.

The group's PNG lawyer Ben Lomai on Friday filed a submission for a further 287 asylum seekers to join the case in the country's Supreme Court.

A court date for the case is expected to be set on Monday.
