V8 supercar factory producing life saving ventilators during COVID-19 crisis
It's all hands on deck with a V8 Supercar company jumping on board to make life saving medical equipment.
Mark Dutton is the team manager of Triple Eight Race and Engineering. He took notice of the medical supply shortage across the country and realised his supercar factory could produce the life-saving ventilators so many people needed.

"We are an engineering company that goes racing. We're not just a racing car team," Dutton told 60 Minutes reporter Tom Steinfort.
At their headquarters, ventilators are being created by the V8 supercar engineering team to help hospitals that are short of vital equipment.

"It's something that I've definitely not experienced in my lifetime, so the fact that we can step up as a group and as a nation is pretty inspiring."

Being a racing car manufacturer is a flashy career in its own right, but Mark says people have been 'even more impressed' with his team's work and savvy contribution.
"Everyone's been so supportive because it is a cause that obviously is affecting the whole world."
As a nation we can only admire the determination and skill of health workers and other's like Mark and his company who are continuing the fight against COVID-19.
