4WD runs over baby boy in southern NSW
A baby boy is in a serious condition in hospital with head and facial injuries after being run over in his neighbour's driveway on the NSW far south coast.
Emergency services were called to a home on Oceanview Avenue at Merimbula about 5pm on Saturday after the nine-month-old baby was hit by a 4WD.
It's understood the baby had been playing with his siblings when he crawled from his home towards his next door neighbour's house.
The baby was hit as a Mitsubishi Pajero reversed out of the neighbour's driveway.
The 67-year-old male driver was breath tested but provided a negative sample.
The baby was taken to Bega District Hospital in a serious condition with head and facial injuries.
He was later airlifted to Canberra Hospital, police said.
