$4m for preschool maths program

More preschoolers will be able to take part in The Smith Family's early maths program after a $4 million investment by the federal government.

Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull and Science Minister Christopher Pyne visited a preschool in the Canberra suburb of Harrison to mark the announcement on Monday.

The 'Let's Count' program has already reached 13,000 students from disadvantaged communities over the past five years.
