$48,000 of cannabis seized at Sydney home

Cannabis worth $48,000 and a "sophisticated" hydroponic kit have been seized from a 63-year-old woman's home in Sydney's southwest, police say.

Police say the stash was uncovered by emergency services, who went to the Mount Pritchard home after smoke was seen coming from its roof on Sunday evening.

The 63-year-old resident was arrested at the scene and charged with occupying a drug premises.

Bail with conditions was granted and the woman is due before Liverpool Local Court in February.
