Five youths - the youngest only 10-years-old - have been charged over a frightening rampage in an Adelaide shop.

Security cameras at the store, just off Rundle Mall, recorded the attack, which happened at lunchtime yesterday.

The lone female owner of the business can be seen standing behind the counter as the rampage unfolds.

The youths steal some items, before stock is pushed off counters and shelves are pushed over, sending other products crashing to the ground.

One of the offenders even throws objects across the shop before fleeing.

The victim quickly calls police, who located a group of youths nearby a short time later.

It will be alleged the youths were in possession of items stolen from the shop.

All six boys - a 15-year-old from Mile End, a 13 -year-old from Seaton, three 12-year-olds from Pennington, Munno Para West and Magill, and a 10-year-old from Elizabeth East - were arrested and charged with aggravated assault, attempted aggravated theft, violent disorder, property damage, unlawful possession and unlawfully being on premises.

They were refused police bail and fronted court today.

SA Police spokesman Superintendent Craig Wall praised the officers who made the quick arrests.

"I am shocked and appalled by this behaviour as I know the community would be," he said.

"This sort of senseless damage and violence achieves nothing but regrettably interferes with a hard working business trying to make an honest living."

The business owner was not injured.
