Zoo staffer mauled by white lion in Pakistan

A Pakistani zoo staffer was viciously attacked while feeding a white lion in its enclosure.

Kannu Piraditta was feeding the large cat at the Karachi Zoological Gardens in Karachi, Sindh, on Monday when the attack happened.

The man had been throwing raw meat to the lion and a lioness through the bars, when the male animal reached out and latched onto his arm.

Witnesses said the man screamed as the lion held on, and blood could be seen gushing from his arm.

The attack lasted for 40 seconds before Mr Piradatta finally freed himself.

He was rushed to Karachi's Civil Hospital and is now in a stable condition.
