A zebra has attacked a zoo keeper in China and dragged him around its enclosure in front of a crowd of screaming guests.

Video posted earlier this week of an incident in December last year shows the animal corner the keeper, surnamed Li, against some bushes before it knocked him to the ground.

It then clamped down on his arm with its powerful teeth and bolted across the yard at the Chimelong Safari Park in the city of Guangzhou, southern China.

Other keepers armed with poles chased the zebra, which takes off down a dirt path while dragging Li like a ragdoll.

Chimelong Safari Park issued a public statement confirming the incident saying Li only suffered "minor injuries" and was freed from the animal's grasp after two minutes.

The animal reportedly lost its tempter at the keeper after being rushed along.

The footage comes just days after a man was fatally attacked by a group of tigers in Youngor Zoo in East China’s Zhejiang Province.
