Two Aussie beaches named in world's top 25 by Tripadvisor
Warm, tranquil, sun-splashed beaches? Yes, please.
Tripadvisor's annual compilation of the world's very best stretches of shoreline, released Tuesday, offers a head start on picking a great beach to visit in 2025.
"This year's lists span an incredible six continents and 50 countries with over 100 of the very best beaches showcasing the eclectic mix of coastal spots across the world," Tripadvisor president Kristen Dalton said in a news release.
Two Australian beaches made the cut - against, it must be said, some very stiff competition.

25. Muro Alto Beach, Brazil
Situated at Porto de Galinhas, Tripadvisor said this beach was "the perfect family-friendly spot".
24. Bondi Beach, Australia
Sydney's famed Bondi Beach did crack the list - but only just. It's good for a swim, a stroll, and a surf.
23. Reynisfjara Beach, Iceland
The northernmost entry on the list, the water might be a bit chilly for swimming.
But Tripadvisor says the volcanic-sand beach is all about "drama" and spectacular sights.
22. Ka'anapali, USA (Hawaii)
Hawaii, unsurprisingly, boasts a couple of entries on the list. Ka'anapali is on Maui Island.
21. Balandra Beach, Mexico
A secluded beach on the cost of La Paz.
20. Tropea Beach, Italy
According to local legend, Tropea was founded by Hercules (or Herakles) as he looked for a place to rest from one of his heroic labours - so it's been a top spot to relax since the gods walked the Earth.
19. Playa Norte, Mexico
Playa Norte is on Isla Mujeres, and is the "perfect spot" for a relaxing day, according to TripAdvisor.
18. Anse Lazio, Seychelles
This beach in the Indian Ocean is known for its white sands and deep blue waters.
17. Plage de Palombaggia, France
Despite technically being a French beach, this one is found in Corsica, off the coast of Italy in the Mediterranean.
France annexed the island in the 1700s - it was the birthplace of Napoleon.
