World's first BASE jumping dog

Meet Whisper.

He's one pup who's living the epitome of a dog day afternoon.

When Whisper's owner, world-renowned free climber and BASE jumper Dean Potter, wanted to leap off an isolated cliff in Switzerland, he decided to bring his best mate along for the ride.

Using a GoPro and a camera crew, Potter managed to film the entire white knuckle ride from jump to landing.

After sliding the pup out to an isolated rock on a pulley system, Potter joins his four-legged friend and begins prepping for the jump.

With goggles fastened tightly to his furry face, Whisper is safely tucked inside Potter's backpack, with only his curious and slightly bemused head poking out the top.

Then with little to no ceremony, down the pair go.

Many news outlets have criticised Potter for putting his pet in harm's way but the animal appeared unfazed by the giant freefall.
