Wendy Holland was sentenced as a member of an abusive sex ring connected to the disappearance of a 19-year-old woman who remains missing.

A woman has been sentenced to 219 years in prison for taking part in an underage incestuous sex ring in the US.

Wendy Holland from Alabama is one among 11 people charged with sex crimes following the disappearance of 19-year-old Brittney Wood in 2012.

Ms Wood remains missing and is presumed dead.

The 35-year-old showed no remorse when the judge condemned her to serve at least 50 years in prison before she would be eligible for parole.

Another defendant, William Brownlee, got a 20-year prison sentence after being convicted of sodomy, sexual abuse and other charges last month.

Baldwin Council Circuit Judge Jody Bishop gave both Holland and Brownlee the maximum sentence but added they both deserved more time.

Authorities said the two were part of a group who sexually abused children and swapped their own kids for sex.

Holland is the widow of the alleged leader of the group, Donnie Holland, who was also Ms Wood’s uncle.

In a letter read to the court, an underage teen that was abused by Holland, Brownlee and a family friend, said she lived in fear of sexual torture.

"The people who were supposed to protect me were the ones hurting me," the teen wrote in the letter.
