Woman gives birth on bus to baby boy

A woman has given birth on a bus in Argentina, with the bus driver and two policemen helping deliver her son.

The woman was a passenger on a bus in the city of Santiago del Estero when her contractions began, the Mirror reports.

She was heard screaming during the journey with bus driver Christian Luna Garcilazo and fellow passengers trying to calm her down.

After realising she had gone into labour, Mr Garcilazo stopped the vehicle and asked passengers to get off before calling police.

Two police officers then attempted to calm the woman in the moments before she gave birth, with Mr Garcilazo filming throughout.

At one point, one of the officers declared: "Congratulations, mummy, he is a beautiful boy!" as the tot is heard crying.

In the final part of the video, the woman can be seen resting on a bus seat with her newborn son wrapped in a blanket while she sips from a glass of water.

The mother and infant were taken to a local hospital for a check-up and were declared fine, local media reported.
