Woman films iceberg collapse overreaction

An easily-spooked sightseer has captured her hilarious overreaction to an iceberg collapse in Canada.

Wanda Stead, of Gander, Newfoundland, said she and husband Rick were admiring the "magnificent structure" in the Bay of Exploits when it suddenly collapsed on Tuesday.

Her video shows the once-tranquil setting transform as the arch in the iceberg begins to crack and fall into the bay below, sending an icy wave towards their boat.

Fearing their boat will be overturned, Mrs Stead lets out a blood-curdling cry for her husband to move.

"Run, Rick. Go. Go," Mrs Stead says.

With her husband hitting their boat's engine, the couple were able to move to a safer position.

But two days later Mrs Stead's fears had not subsided, telling CBC News she genuinely felt their lives were in immediate danger.

"I think my heart came up, and I swallowed it. I was petrified," she said.

"All I could see was this tidal wave coming toward us."

She said she had learned a lesson about getting too close to the massive structures and warned others to steer clear.
