A New Zealand woman filmed driving into the path of an oncoming car has blamed her GPS for directing her onto the wrong side of the road.

Dashcam footage shows the unidentified woman making a left-hand turn in the Auckland suburb of Mt Roskill on Thursday, before crashing head-on into Ian Mander's Subaru Forester.

Mr Mander told 3News the young driver informed him she was simply following the navigator's directions and was not to blame for the bingle.

Luckily, no one was injured in the accident, though Mr Mander's car was written off.

It is not clear if the woman will face any charges over the incident.
