When British royalty met US pop royalty

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have met with their American royal equivalent, pop stars Beyonce and Jay-Z, at a New York basketball game.

Earlier in the day, the Royals went their separate ways - it's believed so Kate didn't overshadow the Prince in Washington. 

Prince William had some important meetings, firstly in the Oval Office with President Barack Obama, where he revealed just how excited he was when Prince George was born.  

It was a far more serious meeting at the World Bank, where the Prince spoke about a matter close to this heart - wildlife poaching. 

The Duchess travelled to Harlem and won over little hearts - meeting underprivileged children at a learning centre.  

Some thought they were getting a visit from the Princess from "Frozen".   

Kate left a lasting impression, following in the famous footsteps of Princess Diana, who famously visited Harlem Hospital two blocks away two decades ago.

The pregnant Duchess was meant to then rest, but instead decided to accompany her husband to meet Hilary and Chelsea Clinton.  

Even by New York's busy standard it was an action packed day, but one many here will remember forever.
