A UK rail safety organisation has released alarming video of an empty pram being pulled across a platform by a train’s slipstream and smashed.

The Rail Safety and Standards Board (RSSB) recently released CCTV of the accident, which took place at Nuneaton railway station in Warwickshire, England back in July of this year.

In the video a woman can be seen leaving the pram without its brakes on the platform as a freight train blazes past.

The slipstream from the train drags the train towards the platform edge where it is struck and thrown across the platform.

The RSSB said there were 1515 incidents on platform edges between April 6, 2015 and April 5, 2016.

The horrifying moment a pram rolled off a platform and onto train tracks in Sydney’s west was captured on train station CCTV back in August.

A month earlier Metro Trains Victoria launched a new pram safety campaign highlighting the need for parents to exercise greater caution while travelling by train.
