Mountain hare makes brave dash through Russian avalanche

Stunning video has emerged of what could be the world's bravest hare taking on a snowy avalanche.

The footage, captured by a helicopter camera crew from Russian tourist company Helipro, shows a snowboarder riding down a mountainside ahead of an avalanche.

As the tumbling snow gets closer, the snowboarder manages to slip out of the avalanche's path - just as a white mountain hare leaps into it.

The hare is undeterred by the rushing snow, battling its way across the avalanche.

Despite taking a few tumbles, the bunny appears to make it to the other side of the avalanche none the worse for wear.

The video was taken at Kamchatka Snow Valley, a holiday destination in Russia's east.

The hare's luck seems almost too good to be true - but the video has not yet been debunked as a fake, with most online viewers just amazed at the animal's fortitude.
