World's longest waterslide shown off in US

Thrill-seekers are licking their lips at the chance to have a crack at the world’s longest waterslide, measuring a massive 609 metres down a ski resort in the US.

Guinness World Records on Saturday confirmed the slide in Action Park, New Jersey to be ‘the longest in the world’, and it is expected riders will take up to 90 seconds to go from top to bottom.

Footage taken from an employee’s GoPro gave the public a sneak peak of what they can expect when the park opens.

An incredible 600 man hours was required to construct the record-breaking effort, led by New Zealander and Slide Owner Jimi Hunt.

When operational the slide will use an astonishing 3800 litres of water every hour.

Action Park is also home to world's tallest and only double-looping drop box water slide, called Zero G.
