Woman who had sex with a child faces court with her husband

A US woman who had sex with a 14-year-old boy appears to have the support of her husband after he stood alongside her in court.

Brooke Lajiness, 38, of Michigan, appeared before a court on March 16 with her husband to post a $64,743 cash bond, after she previously confessed to having sex with a 14-year-old boy more than a dozen times in the back seat of her car, MLive.com reports.

Michigan State Police Trooper Donald Pasternak testified at an earlier hearing on March 3 that the mother of the 14-year-old approached authorities in February to report the illegal sexual relationship.

Lajiness confessed to having sex with the teen between eight and 15 times since early 2016 while the student was about to start his first year in high school. She was charged with 13 counts of third-degree criminal sexual conduct.

"They started conversing and exchanging nude photographs while he was still in middle school," Pasternak said.

Magistrate A. Thomas Truesdell restricted the 38-year-old from using any computers or social media devices following her bail release.

Lajiness will face court again on March 30.
