A New York woman who begged American Airlines to help track down her "future husband" after sharing a flight with him has finally met the man of her dreams and says he's "amazing".

Lovestruck Emily Domesek fell in love with fellow passenger – a man called Clauco - after sharing an American Airlines flight from Dallas to Calgary last month.

With little other than his name and a few scant facts to go on, Ms Domesek decided to reach out to the airline on Twitter in the hope it would play matchmaker.

Ms Domesek wrote: "Dear @AmericanAir: just got off my flight with my future husband, but didn't catch his full name. Wanna be match maker #flight1037".

At first, her request was met with a steely silence.

So, she tweeted again: "@AmericanAir what happened 2 romance? I'm just a girl, standing in front of the world, asking an airline to help her (2 quote Nottingham Hill)."

Second time proving the charm, the airline declined to give Ms Domesek Clauco's private details, but instead gave her a platform to reach their 780,000 followers.

Despite all her technological sleuthing, Ms Domesek ended up tracking down Clauco the old fashioned way; through a mutual friend.

She has since tweeted of their meeting: "To close the book on this story. The universe brought us together & he's amazing. FULL STOP."

American Airlines has asked for a "virtual" invitation to any wedding.
