US teacher filmed picking up student and slamming him to the ground

Video has surfaced of a school teacher throwing a student face first into the street outside a US high school.

Campus security at Jim Hill High School in Jackson, Mississippi were reportedly trying to break up an argument between a student and a faculty member when the teacher decided to take the situation into his own hands.

“This adult injected himself into the situation [he] picked the student up and slammed him,” said Dr Freddrick Murray, Chief Academic Officer for the high schools in the Jackson area.

“It’s extremely important to know that’s that not the way we handle students.”

US authorities report that the student was not seriously injured.

“The student was crying and he was bleeding from his mouth,” said student Tahj Young who witnessed the incident.

Dr Murray indicated that the teacher is likely to be fired and could also face criminal charges.

“Our recommendation from the initial video will be to recommend termination,” he said.
