Students warned to stay away from Michigan University campus

An emergency alert sent to students at a US university has been downgraded after investigations revealed there is no “active threat”.

The University of Michigan earlier today released a ‘run hide fight’ alert to students warning them of an active shooter on campus.

The alleged shooter was on the grounds of the Ann Arbor campus, the Michigan Division of Public Safety and Security reports.

However, an updated alert to students by the university claims there is no longer a threat.

“There does not appear to be an active threat to the community. DPSS continues to investigate. Continue to stay clear of area,” the alert read.
