US mother arrested after 14-year-old girl and 11-year-old boy found in freezer
A woman in the US city of Detroit has been arrested after two of her children were found dead inside her freezer.
The bodies of a 14-year-old girl and 11-year-old boy, wrapped in the same plastic bag, were discovered at the family's apartment by court officials carrying out an eviction order, TV news station WDIV reports.
Police Chief James Craig called it a "terrible find".
A post-mortem examination has been scheduled to determine how the children died.
A neighbour said she had not seen the two dead children for about a year.
Two of the woman's other children, aged 11 and 17, were found at a neighbour's home and placed in protective custody.
The mother, who had been behind on her rent on her three-bedroom apartment, was taken into custody as a person of interest in the case.
Formal charges are expected pending the results of the autopsies.
