Man dies after getting trapped in US donation bin

A man has died after becoming trapped in a donation bin outside a Tennessee Walmart.

Clarksville police responded to a call about 4pm on Sunday regarding a man who was stuck inside a clothing donation bin.

They arrived at the scene to find a 48-year-old man's body protruding from the bin and after removing him, pronounced him dead.

It is unclear how the man got stuck and how long he was there before police arrived.

There have been no reports of foul play and police so far suspect it was an accident.

Executive Director of the American Veterans National Service Foundation responsible for the bins, Joe Chenelly, issued a statement saying

"The entire AMVETS family is saddened by this loss of life. We send his family our deepest condolences. They are in our prayers."
