US man banned from internet for 'cruel' prank
A US man has been banned from the internet after posting a fake Craigslist ad inviting naked strangers to show up at his neighbour's house for sex.
Wisconsin man Jason Willis, 31, thought he was just having fun when he posted the x-rated invitation on the personal ad site in 2012.
But the prank backfired spectacularly when the neighbour called the police after naked strangers started arriving at her doorstep.
One man had the victim's full name and address and told her, "I just got it off of Craigslist. You put an ad on there."
"[Willis'] idea of a joke is much different than other people's idea of a joke," the victim, known only as Dawn, told WISN 12 News.
Willis this week worked out a plea deal which will see him barred from going online for 30 months.
In handing down the unusual sentence, the judge labelled his conduct "unconscionable" and "cruel".
