Police officers witness plane crash in Florida

US police officers have been involved in an amazing near-miss when a single engine plane crashed in front of them in a suburban Florida street, capturing the emergency landing on their dashcams.

The plane can be seen flying in low over the road in Clearwater, Florida before the plane smashed into a tree and coming to a rest across the road.

In the video a cop car can be seen racing towards the plane, its lights flashing.

Luckily the 61-year-old pilot and 55-year-old passenger were uninjured and no citizens were injured as a result of the crash.
