US driver ploughs car through family bedroom

A US man has returned home to find a huge hole in his bedroom after a driver blacked out and crashed through his property.

The 60-year-old male driver had recently changed medications to treat his diabetes when he had an adverse reaction and blanked behind the wheel shortly after 12pm yesterday on Speegleville Road in Waco.

A home security camera recorded his white truck losing control and speeding towards the house after narrowly missing a tree.

The driver appeared to regain consciousness and raise his hand to shield his face moments before the vehicle ploughed through the bedroom wall of the home and out the other side.

Nobody was in the house during the time of the accident.

The car came to rest in a nearby field where emergency services found the driver and treated him for minor injuries, the Waco Tribune reports.

Homeowner, Tony DeMaria, posted video of the accident followed by a walkthrough his property showing piles of debris and rubble scattered throughout the bedroom as he stared out of the gaping wound in his house.

Mr DeMaria said he was surprised the damage to his home was not more severe.

"A firefighter with the Speegleville Volunteer Fire Department called me and told me there had been an accident and a gentleman hit our house with his truck, but I’ve always kept a level head until I know all the facts. When I got home, I saw the hole, and it’s a hole. It’s not that big of a deal," Mr DeMaria said.

"It is an inconvenience but it’s really going to be fine and we will get it repaired."
