US police officer tasered by his partner

A police officer in Ohio accidentally tasered his partner while the pair attempted to arrest a suspect.

Bodycam footage released on Monday showed two officers questioning a man in a parked car in the city of Riverside over a domestic violence incident.

When the suspect refused to produce identification one officer dragged him from the car, reports Dayton Daily News.

The video showed how the other officer fired a taser at the resisting suspect.

But one of the stun gun’s prongs hit his partner who was grappling with the suspect.

The struck officer falls to the ground, hitting his head and grimacing with pain.

He was taken to a local medical centre for treatment.

The suspect was charged with obstructing official business, failure to disclose personal information and resisting arrest.

He pled not guilty to all charges in a court hearing on Monday.
