Two battling moose frozen in Alaskan lake

A pair of moose locked in an epic battle have been frozen in time after the lake they were fighting in froze over.
Brad Webster was showing his friend Jeff Erickson around the Alaskan bible camp he helps run when he spotted a pair of dark objects protruding through the ice of a frozen lake, Washington Post reports.
The pair were amazed to find the objects were antlers attached to a pair of massive bull moose frozen in the grips of battle.
It’s believed the animals were likely fighting over a female as part of a mating ritual when their horns locked. One of the animals likely fell into the lake dragging the other with it.
Erickson posted pictures of the unusual scene to Facebook.
“Two bulls got in a tussle over some ladies....and ended up being put on ice," Erickson wrote on Facebook.
"The plan is to remove intact for a very unique head mount."
A group of friends joined by a taxidermist returned to the frozen animals with a pick and chainsaw and removed the moose heads for wall hangings.
