Trump Tower in New York evacuated after suspicious package found

Trump Tower's lobby in New York was briefly evacuated after security found a suspicious package.

The package was examined by the New York Police Department's Bomb Squad who deemed it to be an unattended bag and safe, the NYPD said in a tweet.

The bag contained children's toys, the Associated Press reports.

A video posted on Twitter shows security officers at the building usher people towards the exit and people running towards the doors. 

President-elect Donald Trump is currently in Florida at his family estate.
