Sexy thug could earn big as model

The American thug whose mug shot turned the internet on heat could earn up to $32,000 a month as a model, it has been claimed.

TMZ reports modelling agencies are circling around Californian Jeremy Meeks, wanting to sign him for his "hot gangster" look.

Meeks' piercing blue eyes and chiselled features made him an overnight sensation after he was arrested on weapons and gang-related charges last week.

Now modelling agency Blaze Models says the convicted criminal could earn between $16,000 and $32,000 a month as a top model.

The agency says his teardrop tattoo – a gang symbol indicating the wearer has killed someone – could even help to bolster his career, with brands like Armani and Versace likely to snap him up.

It is unknown whether the Meeks is interested in modelling, saying last week he was embarrassed by all the fuss.

Meanwhile the father-of-two's wife is said to furious at her husband's newfound fame.

Meeks is currently being held on $900,000 bail and face jail time if convicted.
