Rare Nirvana pics from their first concert tweeted

A US woman has tweeted rare photos of Nirvana in their first ever concert in 1987, sending fans of the rock band into a frenzy.

Nineteen-year-old Maggie Poukkula from Seattle was flipping though some books about her father and the band when she came across the photos, Rolling Stone reported.

She posted three old snaps of her father Tony Poukkula and Kurt Kobain jamming together on Twitter, not really thinking too much of them.

But as it turns out they were taken at Nirvana’s very first gig in Mr Poukkula’s Washington basement in 1987.

Mr Poukkula had played with the band for two Led Zeppelin songs on that night.

The pictures’ rarity and special value to fans of the bad spread worldwide and the young woman has shot to fame quickly.

She has been doing Skype and radio interviews with media from all over the world since her special find.
