Minnesota golfers got a shock this week when a fast-paced police pursuit ended up on the golf course.

The fugitive pick-up truck police were chasing ploughed through fairways and greens on Tuesday, causing chaos on the course in the city of Moorhead, reports WDAY TV News.

Cody Fuller, who shot the chase on his camera phone, says his "eyes got about the size of golf balls" when witnessing the pursuit.

"All the lights and sirens were going," Fuller said.

"I turned around and (the pick-up driver) jumped the ditch and got on the course and I guess chaos just broke loose after that.

"It was pretty crazy, especially for all the golfers out here to see that coming down. I could see in the distance people scattering and running all over the place."

The driver, 33-year-old Kendall Feist, was arrested and now faces felony drug charges along with charges for fleeing police and criminal property damage.

Moorhead police are conducting an internal investigation as to whether officers followed correct protocol in following the suspect onto the golf course.
