Nursing home sued for hiring strippers

A nursing home in the US is being sued by a patient after it allegedly hired male strippers to put on a show for residents.

The son of resident Bernice Youngblood, 86, says he was "shocked" when he showed up to visit his mother and found a photo of her stuffing money into a topless dancer's underwear.

A number of Ms Youngblood's fellow residents can be seen in the background of the shot looking on in a mixture of shock and delight.

Ms Youngblood's son, Franklin, claims that when he questioned a nurse over the photo she snatched it out of his hands.

A nurse later admitted that a strip show had visited the home, classifying it as an "entertainment event" for the patients.

But Ms Youngblood's family has viewed the show as anything but entertaining, claiming that the elderly dementia sufferer was "forced" into participating.

"This might be great for 32-year-old single girls, but this is an 86-year-old traditional, African-American woman who doesn't want white men sticking their private parts in her face," the lawsuit reads.

Ms Youngblood's attorneys have also labelled the strip show as "grotesque" and claim employees did it for "their own sick amusement".

The nursing home has fired back at the claims and said that Ms Youngblood "had fun" and was "brought down to the event by her daughter-in-law", a claim the family also denies.
