Motorcyclist arrested after filming himself splitting lanes

A US man has been arrested after posting terrifying footage allegedly showing him riding his motorbike at high speeds between cars and trucks on a highway.

Texas man Albert Rodriguez, 26, was arrested after police received a tip about a stolen motorcycle, the San Antonio Express-News reports.

By coincidence, Rodriguez was the man wanted by police after his daring video went viral last week.

In the terrifying helmetcam footage, the rider is seen splitting lanes between trucks and cars at high speeds, often with little space to spare.

Posted on Facebook under the title "Catch Me If You Can", the footage has since made international news.

Police were able to initially identify Rodriguez by clicking through to his profile when the video was posted on their Facebook page.

"He wanted attention, obviously, by posting this video to Facebook," San Antonio Police Department Sergeant Javier Salazar said.

"He's got some now. I don't know if it's the kind he wanted."

The allegedly stolen motorcycle was not the one seen in the video.
