Identities of Maryland shooting victims released

The woman who shot and killed three people at a warehouse in the US state of Maryland had been employed at the business for less than two weeks.

Snochia Moseley left Rite Aid in north-eastern Maryland on Thursday morning, one hour into her shift before she returned and opened fire just after 9.05am (local time).

She shot her first victim outside, police said, before re-entering the building where she continued shooting.

There were 65 people in the warehouse.

“After re-entering the building, she continued shooting, striking the five additional victims,” Harford Sherriff Jeff Gahler said in a press conference.

Moseley then shot herself and later died from her injuries.

Police said 45-year-old Sunday Aguda, 41-year-old Brindra Giri and 41-year-old Hayleen Reyes died in the attack.

Three others were injured, including a 19-year-old man.

“During the investigation, information was received that the suspect was suffering from a mental illness and over the last two weeks had become increasingly agitated,” Sherriff Gahler said.

Workers at the distribution centre described terrifying moments of "crazy" gunfire and people screaming and running in all directions after the shooting.

Others said they helped the wounded, one person tying blood-soaked jeans around a man's injured leg in a bid to stop the bleeding.
