It wasn't a medical emergency like a heart attack or stroke that prompted this phone call to emergency services.

This caller from the US state of Oregon simply could not get off his wife's jacket because it had a "broken zip".

The baffled dispatcher can be heard asking the man if there was anything medically wrong with his wife: "Is she not breathing?"

"She's alright," he answered. "She just can't get her jacket off."

When asked why he could not just cut it off, the man replies: "I don't want to cut it off, it's a nice jacket".

The dispatcher, who remains remarkably calm, tells the man that she has sent out an emergency crew to help his wife remove the jacket.

The man reported the wardrobe malfunction in a February 3 call which was released by a dispatch agency in Oregon as part of its campaign, called "You called 911 for that?!", to better educate callers.
