Lucky teen cheats death after crash leaves car perched on bridge

A US teenager is lucky to be alive after coming perilously close to driving his car off a New Hampshire bridge.

Colin Malone, 17, struck a snow embankment on the Sagamore Bridge in Nashua when he lost control and the vehicle sailed through the air, before coming to a rest on a bridge railing with the vehicle teetering over the icy river below.

An official from the Hudson Fire Department said Malone was lucky to have escaped uninjured.

The rear of the Honda Accord faced out towards the river.

Police said he had failed to keep the car within roadway lines.
