Late '90s pop star Aaron Carter attacked onstage by support act

A fracas has broken out during a performance by late '90s teenybopper icon Aaron "I Want Candy" Carter, reportedly after the faded star insulted a musician from the opening act.

According to TMZ, a member of ILL State was snatching phones while Carter, 29, worked his way through his set at the Looney Bin in Bradley, Illinois, and taking photos of the faded star onstage.

This seems to have led to Carter calling for the fellow's ejection from the venue, which Carter sealed with the send-off "bye Felipe", as per Ice Cube’s classic utterance "bye Felicia".

Apparently the ILL State member, who is Hispanic, interpreted this as a racial slur and lashed out at Carter, invading the stage to grapple with the small bespectacled blonde.

Carter can be seen screaming at his foe to "get the f--- out" and advancing menacingly on a member of the crowd filming the brouhaha.

The singer later tweeted that "everything is good for right now, police are investigating," and also complained that he had been punched twice in the head, but was "still not knocked out".

Some of Carter's equipment was damaged in the melee.
